Hafsa Kanjwal is a US-based academic and historian whose work focuses on Kashmir and its socio-political issues. She authored 'Colonizing Kashmir: State-building Under Indian Occupation', a critical examination of India's policies in the region. Her book was banned by the Indian government in Jammu and Kashmir, which alleged it contributed to a culture of grievance and secessionism among the youth.
