Heather Welch

Heather Welch is an ecologist who worked at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) for nearly a decade, specializing in mapping the movement of marine animals to help prevent ship collisions with whales along the US West Coast. She was recently laid off, along with many others, during significant cuts to NOAA that threaten critical ocean monitoring efforts amid ongoing climate change.
