Henry Hudson

Henry Hudson was an English explorer and navigator known for his exploration of the Arctic and North America in the early 17th century. He is best remembered for his voyages that led to the discovery of the Hudson River and Hudson Bay, which were named in his honor. Hudson's expeditions were significant in the early exploration of the New World and laid the groundwork for future European settlement in North America. His attempts to find a northwest passage to Asia ultimately ended in tragedy, as he was abandoned by his crew in 1611 during a harsh winter in Hudson Bay.
