Hirobumi Ito

Hirobumi Ito was a prominent Japanese statesman and the first Prime Minister of Japan, instrumental in Japan's imperial expansion, including the annexation of Taiwan. His leadership during the First Sino-Japanese War and subsequent policies laid the groundwork for Japan’s colonial rule over Taiwan.
