
Wu Tang-hsing
Wu Tang-hsing was a prominent Hakka leader and commander of civilian militias who played a crucial role in resisting the Japanese occupation of Taiwan in 1895. Born in Miaoli, he rallied local forces to defend Hsinchu and other areas from Japanese advances, initially achieving some success before ultimately succumbing to superior firepower.
