Huang Guangfu

Huang Guangfu is a 37-year-old young teacher at Yunnan University’s Agricultural College and the head of the perennial rice technology center established in Mann Village, Mengzhe Town, Menghai County, Yunnan Province. He has led his students in practical agricultural research, focusing on the unique asexual reproduction capabilities of the Longxiong wild rice to develop new rice varieties such as 'Yunda 25' and 'Yunda 107'. His work has significantly advanced the practice of perennial rice cultivation, allowing for continuous harvesting without the need for annual replanting, thus easing the labor demands on farmers and enabling them to pursue additional income-generating activities. Huang emphasizes the integration of scientific research with local agricultural needs, fostering student involvement in technology promotion and industry collaboration to boost the large-scale planting of perennial rice in the region.
