Ienăchiță Văcărescu

Ienăchiță Văcărescu was a Romanian poet, philologist, and historian from Wallachia, born into an old noble family. Renowned for his mastery of several languages, he played a pivotal role in the development of Romanian literature, being one of the first to write in cultured Romanian. His notable works include the first printed Romanian grammar and 'Istoria prea puternicilor împărați otomani'. Văcărescu passed away on July 11, 1797.
