Mihai Horia Botez was a Romanian mathematician and diplomat known for his anti-communist stance. After serving as a lecturer and researcher in mathematics, he became Romania's ambassador to the United Nations and the United States following the 1989 Revolution. Botez passed away on July 11, 1995.
