Ignazio Wu Jianlin

Ignazio Wu Jianlin, born on January 27, 1970, is a Chinese Roman Catholic bishop who was ordained as a priest on December 22, 1997. He has played a significant role in the management of the diocese during periods of sede vacante and served as the vicar general. His recent episcopal ordination by Pope León XIV on August 11, 2025, marks a continuation of the Vatican's efforts to strengthen ties with China, following a provisional agreement that allows for the consensual appointment of bishops, a process previously fraught with tension between the Chinese government and the Catholic Church.
