Irina Leonidovna Podnosova

Irina Leonidovna Podnosova, born on October 29, 1953, in Pskov, is a prominent Russian jurist who served as the Chair of the Supreme Court of Russia. A graduate of Leningrad State University, she has held various judicial positions, including serving as a judge and later the head of the Luga City Court. Podnosova became the Deputy Chair of the Supreme Court in 2020 and was appointed Chair in April 2024 following the death of her predecessor, Vyscheslav Lebedev. Renowned for her extensive legal experience and organizational skills, she is recognized for her efforts to address the challenges within the Russian judicial system.
