Irit Ben Abba

Irit Ben Abba is an experienced and respected Israeli diplomat who served as the Ambassador of Israel to China for four years. Recently, she made headlines after delivering a politically charged speech during a memorial ceremony at the Israeli embassy in Beijing, where she criticized the Israeli government and addressed the state of democracy in Israel. Following her remarks, she was summoned for a clarification meeting by the Director-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Eden Bar-Tal, which resulted in the decision for her to conclude her ambassadorship earlier than planned, just weeks before her retirement.
