military Iran

Ismael Qaani is an Iranian Major General and the commander of the Quds Force, the extraterritorial military unit of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). He succeeded Qasem Soleimani after his assassination in January 2020. Qaani has been involved in Iran's regional military strategies and operations, particularly in supporting allied militias across the Middle East. Under his command, the Quds Force continues to play a significant role in Iran's foreign policy and military interventions, despite being considered less charismatic than his predecessor. Recently, Qaani's actions and the activities of the Quds Force have drawn international scrutiny, leading to sanctions from entities such as the European Union.
