Jahir Mal was an illiterate Muslim laborer from Khalisani, India, who tragically took his own life due to overwhelming fear and anxiety caused by the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral roll, which he believed would label him as an illegal immigrant despite being born in India.
