Jairo García Hernández

Jairo García Hernández, a 27-year-old man from Puerto Barrios, Izabal, Guatemala, died on February 16, 2023, while in the custody of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in Miami. His death occurred after he suffered a collapse at Larkin Community Hospital, where medical personnel attempted to resuscitate him for nearly an hour without success. García had a history of severe medical complications and had been detained by ICE following various legal issues, including prior arrests for illegal possession of a weapon and identity fraud.
