Jan Nepretsky

Jan Nepretsky was a Belarusian Jesuit scholar born in January 1718, renowned for his contributions to cartography during the 18th century. He lived only 32 years, yet he produced a significant map of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, which was likely completed between 1747 and 1748 while he was at the Jesuit college in Grodno. His work not only demonstrated the high level of education in the region but also served as an important historical source, detailing the administrative and territorial divisions of Belarusian lands in that era.
