Jogaila
Jogaila, also known as Władysław II Jagiełło, was a significant historical figure in the Grand Duchy of Lithuania. Born around 1351, he became the Grand Duke of Lithuania in 1377 and later King of Poland in 1386. His reign marked a pivotal moment in the history of both nations, as he sought to strengthen their positions against external threats, particularly the Teutonic Knights. Jogaila's conflict with his uncle Kęstutis over power and governance showcased the internal struggles within the duchy, reflecting the complexities of lineage and authority. His eventual conversion to Christianity and marriage to Queen Jadwiga of Poland were instrumental in uniting the two states under a common faith and leadership.
