Johann Lafer

Johann Lafer, a renowned 67-year-old television chef from Germany, has transitioned from being a skeptic of Carnival festivities to embracing them enthusiastically. Having first attended a Carnival session in Cologne over 30 years ago, he was initially bewildered by the revelers dancing on tables. However, he has come to appreciate the significance of Carnival, especially in the current year, and offers a remedy for post-Carnival hangovers: a simple porridge made with oats, water, and a touch of Vietnamese cinnamon or maple syrup, which he believes is gentle on the stomach and satisfying.
