John Ampao

John Ampao is a trained visual artist from Nigeria whose life took a dramatic turn when he was diagnosed with leprosy. Despite the stigma and challenges associated with his condition, he remained resilient, continuing to create art while undergoing treatment. After being declared cured, he established a gallery at the Weija Leprosarium in Ghana, using his talent to support his family and raise funds for other residents. His story is one of hope, resilience, and the power of love, as he credits his wife Josephine for standing by him during his toughest times.
