Jonathan Esquivel Garita is an industrial chemist and co-founder of Esquivel y Rodríguez Regentes y Asociados, a consulting firm in Costa Rica. He specializes in the regulation and safety of chemical products, particularly concerning toxic substances like aluminum phosphide, which is used as a pesticide and rodenticide. Recently, he was in the news for his insights on the dangerous properties of aluminum phosphide, following a tragic incident at the City Express by Marriott hotel in Heredia, where a guest reportedly died due to exposure to the chemical.
