José Antonio Cruz Medina

José Antonio Cruz Medina has been appointed as the new head of the Secretariat of Public Security in Michoacán, following a distinguished career in law enforcement and intelligence. He holds a law degree, a postgraduate degree in Civil Law, and a master's degree in Criminalistics, along with an honorary doctorate. With over two decades of experience in operational duties, tactical intelligence, and police investigations, Cruz Medina has served in various significant roles, including vice prosecutor of the State Attorney General's Office and coordinator of the State Security Guard in Baja California. His international training includes programs with the FBI and specialized courses in urban guerrilla warfare and rural operations planning.
