José Caicedo Quintero

José Caicedo Quintero was a community leader and former president of the parish government of Chinca in Esmeraldas, Ecuador. He was known for his active involvement in local governance and cultural initiatives, serving as a career official in the Department of Tourism and Culture of the Esmeraldas Municipality. Tragically, he was murdered on September 8, 2023, while attending a wake in Taquigüe, becoming the second targeted assassination of community leaders in the region within a short period.
