José de Córdoba y Rojas was a royalist commander during the Bolivian War of Independence. He is noted for his leadership of royalist troops leading to the Battle of Suipacha in 1810, where his forces faced a surprising defeat against the patriot army commanded by Antonio González Balcarce.
