José María Tapia Franco

José María "Chema" Tapia Franco is a former head of the National Disaster Fund (Fonden) in Mexico under President Enrique Peña Nieto, known for his controversial management of disaster relief funds and extravagance during emergencies. After shifting from the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI) to the Morena party, he has recently emerged as a multimillionaire and a candidate for mayor of Querétaro, with support from key figures within the current government despite a history of alleged corruption.
