José Matías Delgado
José Matías Delgado was a prominent Salvadoran bishop and a pivotal figure in the early development of journalism in El Salvador. He is best known for his role in founding El Semanario Político Mercantil, the first newspaper in the country, which was published on July 31, 1824.
