Josué Fernando Cortés

Josué Fernando Cortés is an experienced economist currently serving as the Director of Analysis on Prices, Regional Economy, and Information at Banco de México (Banxico). With a strong academic background that includes a bachelor's degree from Unitec, a master's from ITAM, and a PhD from the University of California, Los Angeles, Cortés has been a part of Banxico since 2004. He has held various roles, including economic researcher and manager of Prices and Wages, showcasing his deep involvement in monetary policy and economic research. Recently, he has taken charge of the regional economies report, filling in for the position of Chief Economist, which is currently vacant.
