Joy Baker

Joy Baker is the director of the Port of Nome, Alaska, and a key figure in the $548 million expansion project aimed at transforming Nome into the first deepwater Arctic port in the United States. With a vision to enhance local services, job opportunities, and economic sustainability, Baker, who moved to Alaska in 1987, believes the port expansion will ensure the country becomes more self-sufficient amidst rising Arctic ambitions.
