Juan Rodríguez García
Known as Juancito Rodríguez, he was a Dominican farmer and politician born in 1886. Rodríguez became a prominent figure in the fight against the dictatorship of Rafael Leónidas Trujillo, sacrificing his fortune and enduring personal losses, including the death of his son, in pursuit of freedom for his country. His contributions as a senator and his active involvement in various revolutionary expeditions led to his recent posthumous recognition as a National Hero of the Dominican Republic.
