
Julián Raimundo Riveiro y Jacinto
Born on February 17, 1854, in Cobán, Guatemala, Julián Raimundo Riveiro y Jacinto was a Dominican priest who became the Archbishop of Guatemala. He was known for his strong devotion to the Virgin Mary and his efforts to promote the perpetual rosary. After being ordained in 1877, he served as chaplain at the Santo Domingo church for 36 years. His popularity grew during his pastoral activities, especially following the devastating earthquakes of 1917-1918. However, following the fall of President Manuel Estrada Cabrera in 1920, he faced persecution and was forced to hide. He later resigned and passed away on May 8, 1931, with his remains interred at the Santo Domingo church.
