Julie Staf

Julie Staf is a career diplomat from Ohio, currently nominated by President Donald Trump to serve as the U.S. Ambassador to Kazakhstan. With extensive experience in various U.S. embassies around the world, including Russia, Poland, and Ethiopia, she has held significant roles such as Managing Director for Visa Issues at the Bureau of Consular Affairs. Staf is known for her advocacy on human rights, particularly regarding violence against women, and has received numerous accolades for her service, including seven Department of State Honor Awards. She is a graduate of Case Western Reserve University and Duke University, and is fluent in multiple languages.
