Julie Stufft is a seasoned American diplomat and the newly appointed U.S. Ambassador to Kazakhstan, confirmed by the Senate in the fall of 2025. With a diverse background in international relations, she has served in various capacities including managing director for visa issues at the State Department's Bureau of Consular Affairs and as deputy chief of mission at the U.S. Embassy in Moldova. Stufft is recognized for her advocacy on human rights, particularly concerning violence against women and girls, and has extensive experience in multiple countries including Russia, Poland, and Ethiopia. A graduate of Case Western Reserve University and Duke University, she is fluent in several languages and is committed to fostering U.S.-Kazakhstan relations.
