Juliën Zaalman

Juliën Zaalman is a prominent Surinamese author and spiritual leader known for his extensive work in the field of Winti, a traditional Afro-Surinamese religion. He has written thirteen books, ten of which focus on the Winti faith, aiming to educate and provide a deeper understanding of its principles and practices. Zaalman sees his writing as a mission to help those who wish to embrace Winti but lack knowledge about its spiritual and cultural significance. His latest publication, ‘Anyame, de levensgeest en de eeuwige geest van het Zijn’, reflects years of research and dedication to presenting Winti as a coherent spiritual system. As the president of the Tata Kwasi ku Tata Tinsensi foundation, he advocates for the accurate representation of Winti beliefs, countering misinterpretations and misinformation that often arise from external religious perspectives.
