Kanat Sharalpaev
Kanat Sharalpaev has been appointed as the Assistant to the President of Kazakhstan for economic issues, transitioning from his previous role as Minister of Industry and Construction. He holds degrees from Saratov State Socio-Economic University and Cranfield School of Management in the UK. With a strong background in finance, Sharalpaev has held significant positions at Citi Bank Kazakhstan and has worked extensively in investment banking across various regions including Russia, Ukraine, and emerging markets in Africa and Eastern Europe. He has also served as the chairman of the board of the national managing holding 'Baiterek' and became a Kazakh citizen in late 2022.
