Zhandos Shaimardanov is a Kazakhstani economist and public servant, born on February 24, 1987, in East Kazakhstan Region. He graduated from York University in the UK in 2009 with a degree in Economics and Finance, and later obtained a Master's in Business Analytics and Big Data from IE University in Spain in 2020. Shaimardanov began his career in the Ministry of Economy and Planning and has held various key positions, including Director of Strategic Planning and Analysis in the Ministry of National Economy and head of the National Statistics Bureau. He served as the Chairman of the Agency for Strategic Planning and Reforms of the Republic of Kazakhstan from September 2023 until his dismissal in February 2025.
