Karl-Ludwig Wetzig

Karl-Ludwig Wetzig is a distinguished German translator recognized for his expertise in translating literary and culturally significant works into German. Born in 1973, he studied Germanistics, Scandinavian studies, and history in Bonn and Uppsala. Wetzig has been active as an author and literary translator since 1998, particularly focusing on works from the Nordic languages. He recently gained notable recognition for his translation of 'Sechzig Kilo Sonnentage' by Icelandic author Hallgrímur Helgason, which earned him the prestigious Zuger Übersetzer-Stipendium in 2025.
