Karl Zysset (1907-1988) was a Swiss mechanic and inventor best known for creating the first garlic press in the early 1950s. His innovative design, developed for his company Zylyss, revolutionized how cooks handle garlic by simplifying the process of mincing the pungent bulb. The press, made of aluminum, features ergonomic handles inspired by bicycle brake designs, allowing users to easily crush garlic cloves.
