Kasem Suleimani

Kasem Suleimani was a high-ranking Iranian military officer in the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and the commander of its Quds Force, known for orchestrating Iran's extraterritorial operations and influence in various conflicts in the Middle East. He gained significant notoriety for his role in supporting militant groups and for his direct involvement in Iran’s military strategies in Syria and Iraq. Suleimani was killed in a U.S. drone strike in January 2020, which heightened tensions between the United States and Iran, with Iranian leaders subsequently vowing retaliation against U.S. officials, including then-President Donald Trump.
