Katarina Burzanović

Katarina Burzanović is the General Director of the Directorate for Fisheries in the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management of Montenegro. She has been actively involved in efforts to combat illegal fishing practices, particularly concerning protected species such as the prstac (Lithophaga lithophaga). Under her leadership, the Directorate has enforced stricter penalties for illegal fishing and is working to raise awareness about the ecological importance of preserving marine biodiversity. In a recent statement, she highlighted the ongoing inspections aimed at preventing the illegal sale of protected species in the hospitality sector.
