Kateryna Andreeva

Kateryna Andreeva is a Belarusian journalist and activist known for her work with independent media. She gained international attention after being arrested on November 15, 2020, while covering a protest honoring the memory of activist Raman Bandarenka. In February 2021, she was sentenced to two years in prison, later extended to 8 years and 3 months on charges of treason and espionage. Her case has drawn significant attention from human rights organizations, which have classified her as a political prisoner, highlighting the ongoing repression of free speech and journalism in Belarus.
