Keren Chizik

Keren Chizik, a 40-year-old resident of Ra'anana, served as a combat medic in the Gaza Strip and has been living with severe, complex post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) for over two decades. Her experiences during military service, including frequent exposure to traumatic events, have profoundly impacted her life. Chizik advocates for the cessation of loud noises, such as firecrackers during Purim, which can trigger her trauma. Alongside her service dog, one of the first of its kind in Israel for PTSD support, she emphasizes the need for greater awareness of the challenges faced by veterans.
