Born in Senegal and raised in Italy after his family emigrated two decades ago, Lame began creating content on TikTok in March 2020 after losing his factory job due to the COVID-19 pandemic. His silent yet expressive style resonated with millions, making him one of the most followed creators on the platform. In 2022, he was recognized in Forbes' list of the 40 under 40 most influential people in the world and was appointed as a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador in January 2023. Recently, he made headlines due to claims by political activist Bo Loudon, who alleged that Lame was arrested and detained by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
