Khalid Mahmood is a prominent Norwegian-Pakistani politician and community leader who arrived in Norway at the age of 15 in 1975. He served for 32 years on the Oslo city council representing the Labour Party (Ap) and is also known for his work as a tram driver. Recently, he was in the news for his role in renaming a crucial intersection in Kharian, Pakistan, to Oslo Chowk, commemorating the historical ties between Norway and the local community of Norwegian-Pakistanis.
