Kim Jae-gyu
Kim Jae-gyu was the head of South Korea's Central Intelligence Agency who infamously assassinated President Park Chung-hee on October 26, 1979. He was convicted of murder and executed in 1980, but recent efforts by his family to have his case re-examined argue that he acted to end Park's authoritarian regime rather than for personal gain.
