King Edward I

King Edward I of England, also known as Edward Longshanks, ruled from 1272 to 1307 and is known for his military campaigns against Scotland and his efforts to reform the English legal system. He reaffirmed the Magna Carta to placate discontent among the barons and to strengthen his own authority during a time of heavy taxation. Edward's reign is often characterized by his vision of a united Britain and the establishment of a more centralized government.
