Kirill Vyshinsky
Kirill Vyshinsky was a prominent Russian journalist and executive director of MIA 'Russia Today', known for his controversial role in the media landscape. Born in 1967 in Dnipro, Ukraine, he gained significant attention during his tenure as head of 'RIA Novosti Ukraine' from 2014 to 2018. His arrest in Ukraine in 2018 on charges of treason and support for separatist movements led to a lengthy legal battle, during which he spent over 400 days in custody. Following his release in 2019 as part of a prisoner exchange, he relocated to Russia, where he continued his career in journalism and became a member of the Presidential Council for Civil Society and Human Rights. Vyshinsky passed away in October 2023 after a prolonged illness.
