Klaus Schenk Graf von Stauffenberg
Klaus Schenk Graf von Stauffenberg was a German army officer and one of the leading figures in the failed assassination attempt on Adolf Hitler on July 20, 1944. As a key conspirator in the plot known as Operation Valkyrie, he sought to overthrow the Nazi regime, which he had once supported. Stauffenberg's attempt involved planting a bomb in Hitler's conference room at his East Prussian headquarters, Wolfsschanze. Although the bomb did not kill Hitler, it symbolized a significant act of resistance against the tyranny of the Third Reich and has since made Stauffenberg a symbol of the German resistance.
