Koko Kondo

Koko Kondo is a Hiroshima survivor and peace activist who was only eight months old when the atomic bomb was dropped on Hiroshima on August 6, 1945. As the daughter of Rev. Kiyoshi Tanimoto, she grew up with the legacy of the bomb's devastation and her father's dedication to peace. Initially resistant to embracing her past, Koko later became a prominent advocate for nuclear disarmament and reconciliation, working alongside global leaders such as Mikhail Gorbachev and Desmond Tutu. At 81, she continues to share her story, emphasizing the importance of remembrance and the urgent need for peace.
