Kostia

Kostia is an 11-year-old boy from Lugansk, Ukraine, who has lived his entire life in a region dominated by pro-Russian separatists. He recently traveled to Kyiv in July 2023, having been separated from his mother due to the dire economic situation in occupied Lugansk. Kostia, who does not speak Ukrainian and has never learned about the history of Ukraine, faced a challenging transition to life in Kyiv, where he is adapting to the new environment and the prospect of attending a new school.
