Leo Phokas

Leo Phokas was a Byzantine general known for his military leadership during the conflicts between the Byzantine Empire and the Bulgarian Empire in the 10th century. He played a significant role in the Byzantine campaigns against Symeon I, particularly during the critical Battle of Anchialos on August 20, 917, where his forces suffered a devastating defeat.
