
Leonardo Aguilera Batista
Leonardo Aguilera Batista has been appointed as the new executive president of Banreservas, the Bank of Reserves of the Dominican Republic, through a decree issued by President Luis Abinader. Prior to this role, Aguilera served as the executive president of the Dominican Oil Refinery (Refidomsa) since 2020. He is an accomplished economist with over three decades of experience, including founding the Economic Center of Cibao (CEC). Aguilera holds a degree in economics from the National Institute of Economics in Odessa, along with specialized studies in planning and a doctorate in economics. His extensive career includes consultancy work in several countries and authorship of several significant works on economics and politics, demonstrating his expertise in both fields.
