Leonardo Reyes Madera is the director of the Oficina Nacional de Evaluación Sísmica y Vulnerabilidad de Infraestructura y Edificaciones (ONSVIE) in the Dominican Republic. He was recently in the news for confirming that the debris deposited in Santiago corresponded to the collapsed Jet Set nightclub, which resulted in a tragic incident causing over 221 fatalities. Reyes Madera clarified that the removal of the debris was done irregularly by a contractor's driver who acted irresponsibly in an attempt to expedite the disposal process.
